Q1: Can I connect the ThermaCowl sensor directly to the exhaust or to the head of the engine?
A1: Due to the fragility of the thermistor, we do not recommend that the sensor be mounted to any vibrating surface.
Q2: Can ThermaCowl be used to control a fan?
A2: Thermacowl was designed to control a servo. Any device that operates from a servo input can be used to interface to ThermaCowl. Some customers have successfully used ThermaCowl to control a fan for cooling in tightly cowled installations.
Q3: Does ThermaCowl operate with both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
A3: Yes. ThermaCowl is highly sensitive. It can be adjusted to respond to even heat from your fingers! With proper sensor mounting, ThermaCowl will support all internal combustion engine styles.
Q4: Can I disable the opening of the Cowl Flaps when the Wing Flaps are lowered?
A4: Yes. A switch on ThermaCowl allows you to enable or disable Wing Flap control.
